Aim of CE training: Part 1

“What is the aim of Christianity Explored training?”  That’s a great question that pastors ask.

This is the first of a three-part series by Kevin Allen, Western Region Director of Christianity Explored USA.

CE Training is aimed at overcoming the chief obstacle…

…that keeps North American Churches from doing evangelism.

Fear is our greatest obstacle!

Various fears stop evangelism:

  • Fear of not knowing what to say
  • Fear of rejection by people or abandonment by God
  • Fear of losing a friendship
  • Fear of not being able to answer an unbeliever’s questions
  • and many other fears

The opposite of fear is confidence.

Christianity Explored training aims to move people from fear to confidence in evangelism. The standard we use to evaluate the effectiveness of our training is whether people experience a measurable increase in confidence.

We ask training participants at the beginning of training, and then again at the end, How confident are you (on a scale of 1-10) that “I Can Do This”?

This simple question has helped us document that CE training gives ordinary believers confidence to love, live and tell the good news.

To be continued in Part 2…
